Kids love slime and things that resemble it.  Orange, green, and neon gook they can squish and squeeze.  Slimy toys that squish inside their containers and make fart noises were the rave for my oldest boy when he reached the gross is cool age.  Who remembers the all-mighty slimers of slime brought to us by Nickelodeon’s show You Can’t Do That On Television?

Slime is cool-just not in food.  Yes, you read it right.  Slime in food.  McDonalds, Burger King, and Taco Bell were feeding us slime, beef slime.  McDonalds recently decided to pull slime from their ground beef following in the footsteps of Burger King and Taco Bell.  The details of the story are quite sickening.  Ammoninum Hydroxide-a substance we keep locked away in our cleaning cabinets was being added into our ground beef by Beef Products, Inc., to kill E.Coli, so they could make the parts of a cow that’s typically used for the production of dog food “safe” for human consumption.
